Project:
Our clients purchased an elderly but statuesque Art Deco era property in Strathmore and returned to us to bring the property back to her former glory.
The house is well position in the street but was hidden behind a raised garden. The scheme entailed cutting out the front garden and centralising the driveway to create a grand entrance. The house itself was extended both at the front and the rear. The rear building out to create a workshop to the ground level and above extending the kitchen and family room and building a paved deck area to access the garden from the upper level.
At the front an internal access garage was added and an entertainment deck above which is accessible from both the living room and library/office space. A new solid Matai staircase was built, a new master suite with walk in wardrobe and en-suite, and a new fitted out laundry to the ground floor. On the living level above a there is a new kitchen and bathroom.
Deco style detailing has been added throughout from the new timber panelling in the hall, fibrous plaster cornicing and ceiling roses throughout and pressed tin to the kitchen splash back.
